Pine and Bird Ring

This gorgeous signet ring was designed to be an engagement ring for people who want a genderless and unique piece without stones. This ring depicts a highly polished bird surrounded by pine tree branches that extend into the band. The background to the scene, as well as the outward face of the band, have a matte finish to create a striking contrast and to mimic a snowy texture. 

The design is inspired by a Chavash legend, though versions of this story can be found in many cultures, including Cherokee and German.

A bird was trying to seek shelter from a severe blizzard and asked first the Oak, then the Birch trees for protection. Both refused as they were barely standing themselves. Then the bird asked the Pine tree, who covered the bird with its branches, and they both survived. The bird was a powerful nature spirit, and to thank the pine tree, it granted its entire family protection from the cold, which is why pine trees don’t lose their greenery in winter.
